Where should I go abroad?

Question

Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Australia, China

or any other country you would suggest. Please state why.

I had most everything planned around going to Japan and have been for MONTHS. Well it turns out for a certain reason I am unable to go to the place I most wanted to go. I also know Japanese.

However, I still want to go somewhere. I have two years of formal spanish (the other three years were very conversational like middle school) and my native english also.

Where would you go and why?

i speak french and i fell in love with paris! if you speak spainsh try going to Spain or Chile.

go to amsterdam or italy.

they're both friendly, fun, and have a lot of culture to experience. and im pretty sure its not essential to know the native languages there.

Germany actually chose me for my study abroad.  I wanted France or Spain because I had formal training in those languages, but it was harder to get into those countries with my program.  I ended up going to Germany with absolutely no German, but I found out that's the best way to learn.  Now I speak fluent German with no accent and companies in both Germany and America want me for translation services!

I know you're interested in Japan because you know Japanese, but adding a European language into the mix would be great later for work.  I don't know if you're in high school or college, but either way, studying abroad allows you to have a wonderful experience while adding some serious kick to your resume.  It really makes you stand out to prospective employers if you know more than one language.

Anyway, whatever you choose, good luck to you.  And enjoy yourself!  I wish more people wanted to get out there and see the world.  I think it would help us all understand each other better.
