Where should I go on holiday?

I have just come back from my holiday this year and am already thinking about next years holiday, although I am not sure where I want to go. The time of year I will look to go is during the school summer holidays in July - August.

My favourite ever holiday was island hopping around Thailand, and want something similar with great beaches, relaxed atmosphere, something to explore and generally a great holiday! I can leave from any London airport and have a budget between £1,000 to £3,0000 for the whole holiday including spending money.

Any suggestions?

  3. Bitez, Turkey.  Very laid back, fairly cheap, good quality restaurants.  Good places to stay include Toloman Hotel, Mais Apartments, Ocolyptus Hotel (but has got noisy beach club!), Small World Apartments to name a few - but avoid Makumba Summer Gardens - noisy and full of brats!

The beach is great.  Not the sort of sand you dig in but loads of sunbeds, cushions and sofas.  You can get great tours from here - Ephesis, Pamakake, boat trips etc.  It is near enough to Bodrum (7km)for exploring during the day and enjoying the mad nightlife.  It has a great almost hippyish feel which is gauranteed to relax and revitilise you.
