So I want to apply to numerous colleges around the country but which city do you think I will like most.OK so San Francisco State,San Jose state or Academy of Art in Northern Ca.The thing is I was raised in San Francisco and I'm not sure I want to go to college here.I do love the city though and wouldn't mind staying in the bay area but as fare as living here for the rest of my life isn't what i want to do.So then there is So Cal either San Diego,or LA but I have heard nothing but bad things about LA and how its to fast of a life style and how people are stuckupps.I have been to San Diego and I liked it but I don't no. It was kind of to laid back for me as I like the city.I have been to LA for lyk three hours and really couldn't it base it off the Chinese theather but from what I saw I liked .So also some other choices are Northwestern in Chicago but never been there. Then New york city never been there for either NYU,Syracuse,or Columbia. Also I checked out the Saint Louis University which has a Spain,Madrid campus which I would consider going to but I'm not sure if I could stay in Madrid the whole time and I dnt want to go to school in Missouri. So if anyone has been or looked into these schools can you please help me.

  1. wow this is like the 3 bears - one city is too fast, one is too laid back, one is jussst right...

i agree, moving to a new place for school is a valuable life experience, even if you go back the other bay area later...

the spain option is probably a one year thing for certain people in certain majors, probably juniors. my sister did a similar program in Japan as a junior at Georgetown, my college has campus in europe and asia with similar programs. I am sure the school's web site has details.

btw, if you can get into columbia or northwestern, then I seriously question why all of the rest of the schools are on your list at all. If you can get into those, you can pick your city and then find the best school.

one place that might have a similar vibe for students to SF is Boston...from your list already you don't seem concerned about new climates, so there you have 44 colleges or so to choose from....

also, if you find the bay area is best, and you have the grades, then why not look at Berkeley or Stanford?

I those top schools are longshots, ok, still, I think Boston is a good place to look at schools of all types...
