I really want to travel SOMEWHERE as i have never been outside of the united states and I am 15.

next summer i really want to travel anywhere but I have 2 problems- I don't know where i want to go and i don't know if this is enough time to plan.

i have been saving up my money, though and i would rather go with a friend than a parent.

can you guys recommend a place for me to go? or places?

  1. Perhaps you ought to try and go on a school exchange or trip to Europe, its fun because you travel with a group of students like yourself, and there will be a teacher "looking after" you, that means organising hotels, visits, and giving you some free time, too. You can go it alone in a few years' time.

  2. The world is a beautiful place and there's so many places to go so in order to answer this question I'd need to know your interests.... but...

I've done a lot of traveling since I was very young with my parents and everywhere I've gone has been absolutely amazing. One of my favorite trips was the one we did in Europe/UK and we got to go to Germany, Switzerland, France, London, and a bunch of other little countries.

I just recently went to Egypt and that was pretty cool but the culture difference is huge. Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon (not that you can go there now..), Turkey, and the rest of the middle east is that way to. Also in stricter countries you have to wear the Hijab if you are female.

I recommend going to somewhere like the Caribbean if you are just looking for nice beaches. Something like Aruba, Grand Cayman, Bahamas, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Puerto Rico were all very, very  nice and relaxing. I've also seen 98% of the United States and there is lots of nice scenery here.....so traveling in the US wouldn't be so bad.. take a nice trip to Cali, NY, Vegas or something would be cool too.

I'm planning a trip to China or Brazil for October - so I don't think its too late if you are planning a trip for next summer. Just beware that getting your ticket late will make your ticket a lot more expensive. Since this is your first time out of the country (esp without your family/parents) I would definitely take time to plan and learn about wherever your going so you are ready!

I am only seventeen right now but traveling has always been my biggest interest...it's wonderful =)

    Good Luck.

  3. I kind of agree with Dani, at 15 I wouldn't suggest traveling around foreign countries with just friends.

If you really want to take a trip like next summer why not try traveling somewhere IN the US.  I mean, i have been to more places in Europe then i have been to in the US and I live here.

Also, that way you can save money for even longer and really make your trip worthwhile.  Go the summer before you enter college.  Decide who you want to go with so they can save money too.

Believe me, once you turn 18, 3 months traveling around Europe could be a great way to end High school and jump start college.

I would suggest Europe when you do travel just because it is so easy to get around and you can see so many different places easily.

  4. I agree. You should try to take an exchange program or an au pair program abroad. If you take an au pair program (as babysitter) then you could learn about other countries and get paid for it. I would advice you to follow your instincts. My instinct always pointed to Germany and now I live here in Germany. Anyway, if you plan to go somewhere a bit less safe than Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, etc... such as Brasil, Moscow, Thailand etc.. try to keep yourself safe and around someone you trust who knows the country you are in and where not to go.

  5. Go to Alaska or Canada

  6. You are only 15 you dont need to be going out of the country yet. Wait until you are 17 or 18 and you will have more money and time to plan.
