Hello, I am planing to move to California, but have no idea exactly where i should live. I would like to live in a city that has

- high population ( 300,000 - up)

- metropolitan area (somewhat similar to Manhattan)

- great climate ( somewhere between 70-90 F, for most of the year)

- crystal clear beaches

- open minded people (mainly entrepreneurs and people going places who don't have time to waste as well as upper class individuals)

- great architecture

-expensive taste ( as in shopping, people, places, scenery) as well as expensive living

any advice would be greatly appreciated

  1. You'll want to live south, then, definitely.

There is no place like Manhattan in California, pretty sure...maybe downtown LA. Maybe.  Also, you should know that the beaches here aren't super clear...they aren't ugly, just not super clear.

Check out Santa Monica and Malibu Beach.  Maybe Redondo Beach, too.  All of those are beaches of LA, so you're near the city and people are still pretty packed together.  Santa Monica's pier and Third Street Promenade are totally cute, and have been in a bunch of movies.

You might like San Diego, too, but SD people are a lot more laid back, not busy and rushing everywhere.
