I like small town but not too small. I don't want to be out in the country but I don't want to be right in town either. And I want some place where I can have some fun. If possible somewhere near the beach.

Please help me.

  1. Well, personally i hate it.

    It rains too much!

I live in a little town, called Yacolt [about 45 minutes from portland]. It's not too far out and it's about 10 miles from town.

  2. Anacortez, Washington

Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island. It is surrounded by the north Puget Sound and San Juan Islands on three sides, and by the Swinomish Channel and the flats of Skagit Valley to the east. The weather is milder than other areas of the Pacific Northwest, because it lies within the Olympic Mountain rain shadow. Fidalgo Island gets 21" of rain per year, only half as much as Seattle. In a recent estimate, there are about 16,300 people as of 2007. Grassy "Sunset Beach" or sandy "Rosario" have tide pools, fabulous views, and picnic areas.

Anacortes is the crown jewel of Fidalgo Island, easternmost of the San Juan Islands and jump-point to the rest of the world-renowned archipelago. Fidalgo, the “drive-to” island, is accessible by bridges from the east and from Whidbey Island to the south. It is also home to the Washington State Ferry terminal, serving the rest of the San Juans and Sidney/Victoria, British Columbia.

  3. do not live in washington. it rains too much

  4. Edmonds, Washington is your place. It is waterfront, but not too expensive. Its is a really cute little community with tons of potential for growth. There is a ton of little coffee shops and quaint stores. It is about half an hour to forty five minutes out of downtown Seattle. It is such a beautiful little town with ferries, a harbor, and so so much potential! I love it there!

Here is the link for the town:  http://www.ci.edmonds.wa.us/

    Hope this helps!

  5. There are tons of towns around Seattle, but your beach will be on Puget sound, not the Pacific.  Myself, I've always liked Mercer Island, Bremerton, Isiquah, Renton, Lakewood...Those can all be kind of pricey, tho'
