  1. if you want to get a pilot made cheaply. Perhaps approach a film and television school as they are always looking for projects.

Funding is really hard to get. If you have already tried affc, don't take no for an answer. Don't become too pushy, but really prepare yourself well, ie. perfect copies of script, lighting design, prop design, detailed approximate budget, and even a filmed preview of what you want it to look like.

and don't just send it out to them, send it all to anyone who migt be interested. Who knows, some old film producer might like it and tell his mates at a production house. spread the word.

<<be prepared: 'luck' is where preparation meets opportunity.>>

you could always approach various production companies  or key people in the industry with your ideas. But there are no guarentees: it is very much about 'who you know'.

Another avenue could be: enter as many short film festivals as possible as many have great cash and film equipment prizes which would certainly get you on your way.

Here is a list of a few Film & Television related agencies in australia: http://www.australia.gov.au/Film_&_Telev...

also: agreeing with the above answer: networking is very important, the more people you know the easier it will be. you really have to work hard for it.

    hope this helps.

    Good Luck.

  2. There may be millions of people out there like you who wish to follow your dream ... but persistance, dedication and creativity may help get you there.

If you can find some appropriate (private) companies to tender, try and think of what will make you stand out from everyone else (visually, physically and creatively) and just keep on upping the anti until they can no longer look past you.

  3. With all due respect, and certainly I wish you success, but it seems logical to me, that you have to broaden your search locally, first.

Networking in your country, with those in similar situations might help, but funding might be difficult no matter how spectacular your idea is.

  4. This is the place to go now...

...but it maybe the same thing as the affc, I dunno.

An alternative is offering financial planners a % of the investment for introducing high income clients to you.  High income people get a tax deduction for investing in the film industry.
