Where should I place the humidity gauge in my beardie's tank?

I have him in a 55g. I finally have the hot side up to 90+degrees, the cool side is better as well. I bought a humidity gauge (dial style) to be sure that the humidity level is where it should be. It states on the package to place it at the top center of the cage, but not to place it near any heat sorces. Placing it at the top center will be placing it about 10 inched from his asking lamp, and about 3 inches from his UVA/UVB light. Is that still the best place to put it?

  1. I actually don't use a humidity gauge.  They need pretty dry living conditions.  I have a really small bowl of water on the cool end....large bowls of water can raise the humidity too high.  My gal gets misted once a day and weekly baths/soaks.  She also gets moisture from a fresh daily salad.  90F on the warm side and low to mid 80s on the cool side are good, but the basking site needs to be 100 for adults and 105F for babies.  Use a digital probe thermometer to measure this.
