Where should I take my boyfriend for his 18th birthday (NYC)

My boyfriend is leaving for a 3 month-community service driven trip to Cambodia in a couple of weeks and before he travels the world, I'd like to celebrate his birthday and his upcoming adventure in a special way. I want to go into the city, but I'm desperate for suggestions! I need some place romantic to eat along with other things to do to pass the time. I want to surprise him in a way that'll allow him to understand how much I love him and how much I am going to miss him :(

tavern on the green ids the most romantic place in the cuty but seeing as you are only 18 you should do something more fun and go to somewhere like jeckle and hyde.
