Tomorrow is Mothers day, and I want to take my mom somewhere special.

We just moved to Edmonton a month ago and os we don't know much about things to do around here.

My mom likes nature, she always enjoys things like waterfalls, lakes, great views, mountain, parks, etc...

The place doesn't have to be in edmonton but should be close, the furthest would be 40 minutes from edmonton.

If anyone knows some place that fits under what my mom likes please share!

Happy mothers day all.

  1. Hey. my 1st suggestion would be the Devonian Botanic Gardens, near Devon. (1/2 hour to 40 mins outta town). http://www.devonian.ualberta.ca/ It's really nice. Lot's of sweet little paths to follow through different gardens. not sure what it would be like this early in spring. It IS open daily according to the web site, They used to have a wicked butterfly pavillion. The Muttart Conservatory is closed for 10 months, so inside the city is maybe difficult. Maybe try John Jensen Nature Centre, Fox drive, just off the Whitemud. I haven't been there in years, but I used to like it when I was a kid. They used to have this huge living bee colony behind glass, so you could see inside at all the tunnels and stuff. I also like the museum tons, 128st and 102ave. Bug room, baby. Check it out.

    Hope I helped.
