  1. U could take her to the spa or travel somewere that u have never been to before.

  2. Take her to Quebec City. It's like Europe without the jetlag and this summer they're celebrating their 400th anniversary, so the city is packed with fun things to do and take in.

It's a quick flight from NYC - or you could even drive it. BUT, book your accommodations now.

Quebec City is a romantic place. Great food, cool history, action-packed nightlife and, well, it's French.

Lowes have a big, modern hotel at one end of the Grand Allee. The Fairmont Chateau Frontenanc is the big hotel you see in all the tourist literature, but there are also some very cool boutique hotels in the old city. Look at Dominion 1912 (or 1914, 1918 - it's one of those numbers). It's an old office building converted to a classy modern accommodation. The streets around are filled with art galleries and restaurants.

A friend of mine took his wife to Paris for her 50th - but they went for a longer time. But what he did that made it that much more special for her is that he wouldn't tell her where they were going. She didn't know until they got to the airport. You might try that with your wife.

Now, if you fly to Canada, you'll need passports to re-enter the US. If you drive, I think you will still be able to re-enter the US using just a driver's license and some other official ID with photo. Oh yeah, you might even be able to take the train to Quebec City.

It's a safe bet for romance any time of the year.

  3. how about the poccanos you could proably drive
