Question:

Where should I work? Chilis or Outback?

So I quit my old server job of about a year. I am looking for a "better" restaurant (there was a lot of theft at the diner I came from along with some sexual harassment issues from coworkers)... a place with more organization and better management I think.

I went in for an interview at Chilis and they want me to start training on Wednesday. I go in for a 2nd interview at Outback tomorrow... They're literally right next to each other, both around the corner from my apartment.

I'm just wanting to know... which one should I work at as a server? Where could I make more money? Which one might possibly have better management? Is one more laid back than the other? Does one have more opportunities for advancement than the other?

I don't know... any experience you have with either would be just dandy. I'm just very indecisive about which job to take.

I must say... at Chilis jeans are part of the dress code. That's pretty cool!

  1. outback has better food but the jeans at chilis is on the list of pros in my opinion

  2. Outback is great. My fried works their as a waitress and she gets big tips! Plus free food.

  3. Outback steakhouse.

You can wear jeans or shorts there.

  4. outback no doubt

  5. I know people that work at Outback and they make bank and they just work in the kitchen.  They say that advancment oppurtunity's are really good too.  So...

  6. chillis is gross i work in a restaurant and outback is definitly the way to go better food

  7. Chillies!!

  8. outback attracts more mature customers, which means theres a greater chance of them tipping, chilis would attract a lot of annoying immature people who don't tip.

  9. Well, w/ Outback you won't have to work doubles (they open up at 4pm during the week) and they aren't as open as late as Chili's. So you would work less hours. However, the food costs more at Outback. However, in the long run I think you would make more at Chili's - especially if you worked your way up to the bar!

  10. im pretty sure outback pays alot more and outbacks alot nicer so i would work there

  11. work at outback the people who work there are more helpful if you have a question about work and they pay more better food

  12. Chili's!!  I madde good money as a server and now I am a manager at the Chili's that I work.  They like to promote from within and they have great people to work with and for.

  13. Outbacks food is a little more expensive than Chilis and they also are more of a family restaurant. College students mostly hang out at Chilis. If you work for Outback your tips will probably be better as a result. Good Luck "Mate"
