Where should Jamie McMurray go?

Seems like at this point all it takes is Jamie or Jack's word that Jamie's leaving Roush this year, guess the rumor mill's starting to turn.

Obviously the dream of getting out of the crappy Ganassi equipment and going to a top team like Roush didn't work out, so where would Jamie Mac do best at next year?

  1. i've never been a fan, and that's probably because he took over my boy kurt's ride after he left back at the end of 2005. i think he would do best back in the nationwide series, as his record is not that great.  he has two wins in six years, and he can't blame it on the equipment - he took over kurt's championship winning ride. now that i look, he didn't do that much better in the nationwide series with 7 wins in just about 7 years.

but his average points finish over the past six years is around 15, so some smaller team that needs someone with some time under his belt might be good for him. i just don't see the big boys lining up to get him. he might even end up happier at a smaller team where he can be the big dog - that's never going to happen at roush - at least not as long as edwards, biffle, and/or kenseth are around.

  2. I agree that Jamie is a good driver that hasn't had much luck; However'I still don't see him as a superstar either.I would think that Jamie should go to a team like Haas CNC or maybe even Red Bull if they decide to open a slot or add a new ride to the team.I think Jamie's chances with real quality rides is over because, like the guy before me said,he took over the car Kurt Busch won the championship with in 2004,they just changed the number.I don't think he will be without a ride in the Cup series though

  3. I think he'll end up at Yates with Gilliland (is that how you spell it?) going either back to the Nationwide or to a 3rd tier team.  Jamie is a pretty boy and a sponsors dream, so he could bring alot to the table at Yates.

He's a good driver, I just never thought that he was worth all the fuss back when Roush was wanting him on his team.

As far as Ganassi having c**p equipment, I dont beleive that, Sterling made a great run for a cup in his cars and if it wasnt for him getting hurt, he stood a good chance at winning it.  Jamie ran good in Chips equipment, but he couldnt see the trees through the forest and made a big mistake jumping ship.  Ganassi has a world class orginization, he's just horrible at picking drivers and has never really had one to show case his equipment since Sterlings run for the cup.

Dale4ever- Wow you bring up a great point with Petty, never even crossed my mind until you said something.  That could be a great posibility being that Kyle is so un-happy right now.

  4. Wow, a real question thats not about Rowdy or Dale Jr... I was wondering about this, it seems like David Ragan, is looking pretty good now at Roush-Fenway... I thought about Petty Enterprises, he is a pretty good driver maybe thats the kick that Petty needs, and he is young and could be great for any sponsor...It would be cool to see him at RCR, just do not think that will happen...Yes let the rumor mill begin, I have a feeling its going to another wild off season with drivers playing musical rides..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  5. I've been a Jamie fan since he started but really been let down on whats he's done at Roush...I would love to see him in the 4th car at RCR but I dont see it...I looki for him to go to MWR

  6. Rusty's daughters room and play with her dolls

    and stay there

maybe rusty should put him in a car

  7. prolly yates is next

  8. It's more a question of who would want him. I don't have anything against him, but if he can't perform better in Roush equipment...

  9. i think rcr might be a pretty good fit for him. jeff burtons influence on him might be just what he needs. the other two rcr drivers also seem to work pretty well in the rcr system. i think this would be his best chance with a competitive team. if he couldn't cut it there, i think he would just remain mediocre at best.

  10. I really think he is headed for a career as a fill-in driver. I don't think he will get a ride. There are better drivers without rides that should get empty spots. Maybe Michael Waltrip or Petty can hire him and save a few bucks.

  11. Yo he should go back to mu DOG!!!!!!!

  12. The back of the unemployment line.

  13. Released from Ganassi, realeased from Roush. The best place for him to go is the ARCA series. How he's kept a ride in Cup racing this long baffles me.

  14. He'll probably go the way of someone like Jeremy Mayfield-driving sub-quality equipment for somebody.  It's hard to say the guy does or doesnt have some talent.  Look how poorly J. Burton ran the last few years with Roush before moving to RCR where he proved he could still drive a car.
