  1. What are some problems that you were never able to resolve?

Or, what problems do you see in others that they cannot resolve (like a bad boyfriend or girlfriend that a person cannot get rid of, hoarding disease, or someone cheating on a school project because they have absolutely no ideas and a full script is due in a week)

Anyway my suggestion is to write about a problem and its solution, with a twist.

  2. Inspiration doesn't come from somewhere; it comes from knowing what you want to write. By what, I mean drama, mystery, comedy, and so forth. After that, anything related to that genre will come to you, either directly or indirectly. To really get into the atmosphere of your writing, start opening yourself up to any type of writing. If you do this, you are guaranteed to come across something that will spark motivation. Watch movies that you've never seen, read books you've never read, and attend an art gallery, or do none of these; it's all up to you. Whatever the case, you will see something that will guide you in the right direction.

    Good luck

  3. Observe people. Read magazine articles. Surround yourself by nature or go for a run or whatever clears your mind. Have you had any good dreams you can work into a plot? My writing juices have pretty much dried up so I should take my own advice. This might seem tedious, but every day write for fifteen minutes--anything that comes to mind. Use writing prompts if you need help getting started. Below are just a few.

  4. In just reading answer 1, I agree in part, though it does come from "Somewhere"

"I want to write" suggests you haven't begun yet? OR you've reached an impasse?

In all my years, it has usually seemed logical to me that any story CAN be told, and most often a good work plan would be to outline whatever it is you're trying to present, even if sketchy, with a beginning, middle, and end.

Obviously the work can also evolve spontaneously, and character development can build, but a general sense of the entire package should be in ones mind, or you might end up writing a rambling, scattered epic that goes nowhere.

Not to sound crass, but one motivation can just be to "Finish", put it in the can, so to speak, even SELL IT. Other methods to save it from destruction, would be give it a rest, and distract yourself otherwise.

If you've nothing in mind, haven't written the first word, then all you can get from us is vague generalities about subject.

I'll assume you realize NOTHING is "NEW" on film, only ways of expressing what is seen, change,,,(not including technology and special effects). Originality is risky, but a challenge is FOOD for both mind and motivation.

  5. Write what you know thats one of the main rules for writing

fantasy can be pretty hard to write but is probably one of the most rewarding things out there

    GOOD LUCK!!
