  1. If you are a good hitter, and you are ever given an easy line shot, take it. There is less time for them to react, and so defense can be more difficult.

Even if they have their libero playing line defense, if you are a good hitter, it is an easy point. Good blockers rarely give up the line for this reason.

If the set is far off the net, or the block is taking up line, then hit cross.

  2. just keep on practice and you will get i right eventually.

if you are not sure, ask your coach or someone who have experiece in this.

  3. you should do your approach along the sideline, so you can hit line by going in straight. your line hit should be your primary hit. if they start reading you, swing across your body and go angle and cross court. if none of this works, tip. mainly, try to go line first, and if you can't, go angle. right handed opposites always throw off blockers, so you should do good.

  4. I think u should hit back left because that where the setter usualy is

  5. line shots are always the best because they are the closest to the lin and are tricky.

  6. FIRST OF ALL!-if teams double block you...that's always time to tip...either at angle or right behind the block...wherever they have no coverage of course.

but yea...i would try to hit at their setter...but mix it up of course. but more than anything just work at getting good at reading your oppenents coverage while your in the air...and then  make the proper adjustments.

  7. This is a perfect time to work on "turning" a ball.  Showing that you might be hitting angle or line and then hitting the opposite after fooling the blockers is a great idea.  Also a nice cut shot or tip over the block would work as well.  Good luck!

  8. one blocker line should be wide open or if there blocking line go cross

  9. If you have a good line shot, use it first.  Most right handed opposites do not have a line shot.  Because of that, most blockers do not block the line.  Hit line again and the blockers will move out.  Hit line until the blockers move out on you.  Then you should be able to hit the seam in the blockers.  If they close the block well, you might get blocked the first time, you can hit the cross court shot.

As stated above, the line shot is harder to defense.  The shot is closer.  The back line is only 30 feet (or 9 meters) from the net.  The cross court corner is 42 feet (12.6 meters) from the opposite hitter.  And as I stated above, fewer players have a good line shot, so teams do not defense it.

  10. This is where reading the block is so important.  If you train yourself to see where the blocks are, you'll be able to make a good assessment of what will fall and what won't.

As the middle is coming over, see where the outside block is setting up.  Plan where the block will be, and adjust.

A line shot is usually more effective than cross court since there's far less reaction time involved for the defense.  If you have the window, take line.

Try working on dinks just over the block, those can be very effective if you can get the ball to drop in the hole.  Even if someone makes a play on the ball, it has a good chance of being a poor dig and may result in a nice freeball back.

Another option is what we liked to call a "tool."  We'd just make a quick shot off the hands of the blocker toward out of bounds.  Relatively high percentage shot that gives you an unsuspected option.  It's a good way to get in their head too...no blocker likes it, been there.

Cross court shots, in my opinion, have their place, but I think players use them too much.  They are easier for the defense to make a play on because it's easier to take a good defensive stance by just watching the hitter.
