Where should i hold the ball when i take a hitup?

carry the ball with both hands in front of you, this gives you options, you can dummy left or right, and you can pass left or right, holding the ball with two hands gives you more ball security, holding the ball in front of you keeps the opposition guessing, as you have more options..... just because your a prop doesnt mean you cant put on some footwork and throw a dummy, or pass the ball!!

Hold it tucked into one hand so you can fend with the other but con't do it all the time because if the other teams have any brains they will target you you should mix it up.

Tuck the ball under your arm, to the side of your chest closest to the main defender you are going to hit. This leaves your other hand free for fending. Tucking it under the arm enables you to hit the line with a good shoulder charge.

If running into heavy traffic, use the other arm to secure the ball in place.

Otherwise if the defenders arent that good, hold the ball in two hands and keep your support runners in mind.

This works for me... but each to their own. All depends on your size, position and role.

as close to you're chest as you can use both arms to keep a grip. this way you protect the ball better.
