  1. NASCAR drivers use 10 and 2

  2. During your driving test, you get marked down if you don't drive with hands at 10 and 2 o'clock.

  3. AAA recomends 10 and 2 o'clock for older cars, and on cars that have air bags, 9 and 3 o'clock, in case the air bag deploys.

  4. imagine the wheel is a clock, put your hands at 10 to 2 =]

  5. well everywhere i have read it says 10o'clock, 2 o'clock  as if the wheel was a clock on the wall.

  6. Aye Carumba!  Some people aren't keeping up with the times.  Learn only one way.  Put your hands at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock.  The old way, 10 and 2, can put your arm in the way of an airbag, and, in event of a deployment, you end up with your hand smashed into your face at 200 miles per hour.  Don't worry about your hands looking cool, worry about being safe.

Ignore the comment about NASCAR, racing cars don't have airbags.  A NASCAR driver will put his hands at 9 and 3 when driving his regular passenger vehicle.

  7. If you look at the wheel as a clock, your hands should be at the 9 and 3 positions. Formerly it was recommended that you used the 10 and 2 rule, but it was proven that in case of airbag deployment you were much more likely to suffer injury to your arms.

  8. 10 and 2 oclock but I sometimes have girlfriend grab the wheel When I am playing my "air bass" During a Geddy Lee solo

  9. 10 and  2 o' clock- however I drive with my knees half of the time-SCAREY, when my knees are busy I tend to hold the wheel at 6 -one handed. ; ) safe n' happy drivin

  10. The 10:00 (left hand) and 2:00 (right hand) positions.  That's what we were taught in drivers education class when I was in school.  Supposedly provides the most control and safety.

  11. imagine the wheel is a clock. your hands should go at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock

  12. The law has changed from the 10 and 2 o'clock to the 9 and 3 o'clock position.
