  1. Your lucky. Rose of Sharon's will thrive any where you would like to put them. We have gobs of them my father-in-law started a few about 20 years ago and they reseed them selves very easily. They always started blooming around my daughters birthday, July 5.

Once transplanted watch that they don't dry out water them at least one gallon of water a couple times a week.

  2. plant then anywhere. they are easy plants. also they do survive the winter outdoors.

keep the trunk clean so prune before spring so that way it looks nice and clean so it will get attention when it makes blooms

  3. They're great anywhere.. but I've always seen them as a border/background (since they can grow large, nearly 11-12 ft. tall) and about 6-ft wide, so plan for space unless you're gonna trim them). I wouldn't keep them in the shade at all, but put them in full or partial-full sun (as they say)... they'll flower in August/Sept. (These plants remind me of my childhood, where they were growing like weeds, in everyone's Brooklyn backyard & front yard). I've seen diff. plants flower pink, violet or white.

  4. Watch out, though.  They spread.  You get baby rose of sharons coming up all over your lawn.

  5. in the garden

  6. I have 3 and love them, they need a little room as they get about 6-8 feet tall and will spread out to 4-5 ft. wide, I have one that gets about half shade, the other two are in direct sun and the ones in the sun have done much better than the one in the shade. I water about twice a wk. and they have been fine with that. They are my son-in-laws favorite, and he always says, "When the rose of Sharon quite blooming, summer is over". And he is right. Good luck.
