Where should my boyfriend and me go on holiday in October?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me?

My boyfriend and me are looking to go on holiday during the first week in October but we don't kow where to go.We are not really looking for the club/lively type holiday. We are looking to hire a car from the airport, book one or two nights in a hotel and then drive around as we please to places that aren't too touristy but not too quiet either. Last year we went to Roda in Corfu and that was an almost perfect example of the kind of towns we want to go to - some shops, bars and cafes, beach, small and friendly hotels with a pool. I know that probably seems a bit specific but I would really appreciate any ideas of where we might like to go. We want it to be reasonably good weather (sun, mid twenties...) and not closed up (a few years ago we went to Kefalonia at the end of September and it was all closed!).

Cyprus is very nice. Went there a few years ago in November and it was warm enough to swim in the sea.

Hiring a car is no problem, but try to find a local hire firm, they can be a lot cheaper than the big companies. If I went again I would try to get a 4WD car as the mountain roads are very rough, but well worth exploring.

Hey Amy...

You haven't said where you from... and would assume you don't want to holiday in your home country. From a once in a lifetime experience, I would suggest Cape Town, South Africa. That time of the year (Spring) is perfect in that part of the world... it is probaby the most beautiful City in the World. You would be able to rent a car and drive throughout the Cape Peninsula. More impressive, the food is stunning, the people are friendly and the nicest part is it is probably the best value for money you will get in terms of holiday.
