We are going to dinner at OSF. Something not overly expensive but not like fast food.

  1. We have restaurants called Saint Louis Bread Co. In other states they are called Panera. Depnds on where you are in the city. My husband and I's favorite place to eat inexpensive is El Maguey's. If you want Saint Louis style only, eat at Imo's.

Add: Sikeston is a 2 hour drive south of Saint Louis, sorry.

  2. Most people like El Maguey, but I really don't.

I absolutely love Imo's, but I was raised on it and I've found that a lot of my friends, and my wife, who aren't from St. Louis don't like it.

The Hill has some great Italian restaurants.

Broadway Oyster Bar is close to Busch Stadium.  Just past that is Soulard with lots of places to eat.

I'm not sure if there is still an Amighetti's downtown or not, I go to one in the suburbs.  It is a sub place, but not like Subway, it's very "mom and pop" and gooood.

There is a Hari Krishna restaurant on Lindell called Govinda's but is closed on the weekend.  Decor is kind of dumpy but the food is very good.

You can find lots of good restaurants in the Central West End (the area just behind Barnes-Jewish hospital, get off 40 at Kingshighway, go North until you're past the hospital, then turn right) or in the University City Loop (Delmar Avenue).

  3. El Maguey's is always good. OSF is fab. Maybe try J Buck's. There is also Pappy's Smokehouse on Locust, The Schlafly Tap Room also on Locust. But there is usually something good within walking distance. I hope you find what you are looking for.

  4. if you looking for southern style they use to have a taylors resteraunt in the 80s on franklin

  5. Olive Garden has a special. Unlimited breadsticks with salad and soup special.

  6. There is a place not far from St Louis that is kind of fun it is

Lambert's Cafe  home of the "throwed rolls"  good food and fun.  They are located in Sikeston Mo.

  7. StL has some great pubs.  Try Growler's in Creve Coeur or Dressel's or Llywelyn's in Central West End.
