In the USA its on the left hand.  If I saw a wedding ring on the right hand and wasn't sure if he was married or not I would ask.

Depends on the culture.  In America, most people wear them on the left ring finger.

We had some friend though who had a Gypsy wedding.  They wear their rings on their right ring fingers.

Both me and my hubby wear our "couple rings" (identical rings) on the left hand. It's definitely left. And wedding rings should be worn on the fourth finger on the left hand.

The English tradition is to wear it on the left hand, hence America, Australia, New Zealand and others follow this too as they were all once English colonies.

In Europe, they wear their wedding rings on their right hand instead.

If you would prefer to wear it on your right hand then that's fine. I have a friend who is left handed so when he got married he started wearing the ring on his right hand because it got in the way on his left hand.

Umm eric h. Closest to the heart is for us women for the engagement and wedding bands. If you, as a guy,  put it on either finger it's the same distance. But generally, wedding bands are worn on the left ring finger. the one next to the pinky.
