In 2012 the olympics are going to be held in London. But where next?

I think Dubai, even though it's really hot there.

  5. i think it would be cool to have them held in Ireland or Jamaica

  6. Well.. Since I'm threatened to answer all of your questions.. I guess I will have to answer this one as well.

So personally, I think they should be held in my pants, Pantelones of Abbie.

Or.. They could be held in Iowa since Iowa is so cool like that. Or Maryland. I've never been to Maryland though. Lol

  7. Some country in South America. Its the only part in the world that Olympics has not been held yet. I think its about time.

  8. the New and improved Baghdad.

  9. If I were the IOC and picking between....

    - Tokyo

    - Madrid

    - Rio De Janeiro

    - Chicago

...I would consider taking Chicago as the destination for the 2016 (or the 31st Olympiad). Madrid, Tokyo, and Rio De Janeiro all have valid reason why they should host the 31st games but Chicago is hard to resist.

    1) Most of their stadiums, within the exception of a few sporting events, are ready-built for the Olympics (Track-and-Field, Basketball, among others) so they would only have to concentrate on getting a few things built within the next seven years.

    2) They don't have weather problems like other countries because it fairly consistent most of the times.

    3) Chicago is much more closer for U.S. athletes, although it doesn't matter where they compete and wouldn't have Visa issue for some foreigner who already live in the U.S. On a side note, the U.S. doesn't do favoritism unlike other countries (Hint: this year Olympics).

    4) Time-delay would not be an issue by then in the U.S. since it's going to carry live most of the time in the U.S. for every coast, including the West (unlike the Atlanta Games and Beijing right now). We'll let the other countries have their time-delay and see how we feel. It makes it much more easier for U.S. journalist to do the story in real-time than getting it from the AP as the source, while also attracting foreign press to come to the U.S.

    5) The ratings usually generates higher when play in the U.S. than any other countries for some reason. Revenues would help the city of Chicago to be a vacation destination since the others are well establish as tourist destination.

    6) It would carry a stronger argument to bring Softball and Baseball back since Wrigley Field (and U.S. Celluar Field) are capable of attracting big time baseball Olympians (like Japan, Domican Republic, and the U.S.) to have a once in a lifetime chance of playing in the best baseball park around, although Tokyo would carry that same argument also. Of course, the MLB would have to revise the schedule to accommodate the Olympics, which wouldn't be a problem.

    7) It would also have future presidential candidates to get more exposure for the upcoming election on the following November, closer to home, although I don't believe sports mixing with politics.

    8) There are better security in the U.S. now than what happen in '96, so there better equipped now.

I have more reasons but I can't think of it now. In a sentimental twist of fate, it would have exactly been 20 years since the U.S. hosted the Olympics (96 Atlanta Games) if it happens, so I think of the high chance that Chi-town (as Kanye calls it) would win, even though they are the underdogs right now.
