Where should we go in Sardinia?

Question

My hubby and I are thinking of taking a 7-10 day break in Sardinia in July. We are looking for sun, sea and sand...great restaurants and nightlife. Where would you recommend? We are looking to spend about £500 each incl.flights.Any recommendations would be highly appricated. Thanks

I lived on Sardinia for two years and loved it! I would suggest the northern part also. Alghero, Castlesardo, Tempio, Santa Teresa, Palau and Lamaddalena and all awesome! If you drive to Palau catch the ferry over to Lamaddalena....Check out Bulldogs "Disco" in Lamadd..The outside bar area is very neat....Little grotto's and even a pool! Very cool. Lots of dancing too...Sardinia is going to be very crowded in July, but the weather is gorgeous! The beaches are to die for...You will LOVE it!!

sea, sun and sand is basically everywhere in Sardinia so that shouldn't be too hard to find.  For nightlife and fun I would go to the north east coast although that's not very cheap and too "people" for me.  Otherwise everywhere is nice really.  it's a great place all over ;-)

Well.. sun, sea (beautiful) and sand are not difficult to be found in that marvellous island.

For also finding good restaurants and nightlife without spending too much, the only solution is to stay on the southern coast.

In fact, the southern coast is less known but it has some of the most beautiful beaches of the whole Mediterrain, both west and east of Cagliari, the main (and only) city in Sardinia. Staying there would mean to enjoy the nightlife and the best restaurants of the city, the presence of the main airport of the island (Elmas Airport, 10 Km. from the city) and the beautiful beaches (Chia, S. Margherita di p**a, Cala Regina, Villasimius, ...).

The north-eastern coast is a place for tourists, overcrowded, very expensive and with not much to do in the nighttime!

Very recommended: to rent a little car to be able to move and visit a different beach everyday! Public transport is not very effective!
