Question:

Where should we stay in East Puerto Rico?

My hubs and I are going on a much-needed vacay to puerto rico in early november. the only things we want to do are the beach, possibly something in el yunque and the tour to the bio-bay (this leaves from fajardo) so I'm trying to figure out where (as in city/location) the best place to stay for this is. We don't drink and mostly just want to relax so proximity to bars/nightlife is not very important. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. well i live in luquillo the yunque is not that interesting and an old man just dissapeared in there and the bio-bay is awesome if ur talking about wat i think ur talking about its awesome 45 dollars for each person but is worth it  u should stay in fajardo , rio grande or carolina fajardo is not that big neither is rio grande but its ok carolina is bigger and theres a place called museo the dinosaurios dinosaur museum and theres story of dinos an acuarium and a ice skating arena its cool hope i helped

  2. Sol Melia or wyndham Rio mar in rio Grande, PR both. about 15 to 20 minutes driving to fajardo and 10 minutes Luquillo.  Another great place is Palmas del Mar complex in humacao, but it is more far that the first two hotels.

  3. El Conquistador Hotel, is in Fajardo and it has two private islands, plus you can take the Ferry from Fajardo and go to Culebra and visit its famous Flamenco Beach, its a must go.

  4. The two best places in Fajardo would be :

1.Conquistador Hotel (www.elconresort.com) ---> Kinda expensive though but its just WOWWW

    2. Fajardo Inn Hotel (www.fajardoinn.com) ----> Nice, relaxing and very cheap (look at the website)

    HAVE FUNNNNN !!!!      =o)

  5. Try the Anchor Inn in Fajardo.  It's a charming little place to stay... if they are open that day.

  6. If you are going to stay on the East side of the island I would recommend the Isla Verde/Ocean Park area, it is very close to San Juan but very beachy and relaxing, I love that area.  Don't forget to visit Dunbars Restaurant or Kasalta(kasalta.com), they are very close to each other.

  7. You can try hotel search in http://www.AmericaCheapHotels.com where you can read hotel reviews and comments, see photos and its physical locations through maps ...

Best thing is you can compare the USA/worldwide hotel prices in any city in any country in your local currency.

You can find good deals because this compares hotel prices from 30 best travel websites.

You can even able to filter out hotel by its features such as Star hotels,Business Center, Room Service, High-speed Internet, Fitness Room, Restaurant Parking, Swimming pool, Pets Allowed, Airport shuttle, Handicap Accessible, Concierge.

Access lots of USA and worldwide travel information.

  8. I live in Rio Grande and find it very practical for doing things around the NE. The Rainforest entrance is in Rio Grande and  RG is equidistant between SJ and Fajardo.

For the other stuff you mentioned, you can look into Rio Grande, Luquillo or Fajardo.  Not a ton of large hotels (Gran Melia, Wyndham Rio Mar, El Conquistador, Fajardo Inn)  in the area, but a  lot of vacation rentals.

Check VRBO.com, Homeaway.com  or VRConnection.com  for all sorts of places to rent.

I really recommend at least one day going into Old San Juan.  It is full of museums, history, shopping... all sorts of stuff to do:

    Have fun!

  9. Fajardo Inn, Rio Mar, Conquistador, Costa del Mar Inn, Palmas de Lucia,
