My partner and me are taking our 18 month old son to London mid July. We are traveling on the train from Norwich and are planning to stay for three nights. We are planning to go to London Zoo one day and London Aquarium another. I have found two Hotels, one is in Kensington and the other near Hyde Park. Which would be a better location? Also do you have any better recommendations of places to go?

  1. Take a small folding buggy and travel on the buses, they all more or less go to Trafalgar Square, also better for travelling on the tube. Avoid taxis will push your budget through the roof. The Bayswater area is quite pleasent but also consider a hotel near the railway station you arrive at, that could save you time and be more convenient. Try the Charing Cross Hotel dead central and a good standard easy to get from there to everywhere else.

  2. There is legoland in Windsor..but eighteen months is probably a little young for that..and of course Kew gardens, if you get a nice day for it. Your hotels seem to be in the most expensive part of the city but if that is not a problem then go with the Hyde park option..the park itself is a great place to spend a few hours. London, like most large cities, is not really infant friendly and if you could get someone to baby-sit for you for the three days then you will probably enjoy your trip a lot more as an adult excursion.. in which case make sure that you have at least one meal, lunch or dinner ..at Simpsons in the Strand; I believe this to be the oldest restaurant in London and there are good reasons for it's survival..English food at its absolute best.

If I was taking a holiday with a child of eighteen months then I would probably chose somewhere like a holiday park where they cater for infants..many of them do.

  3. The Science museum is also good, they have 2 areas for little kids -- one for under 3's and then one for 3-6, but even my younger son at 1.5 liked the 3-6 yr area.

Go to Hampstead Heath if it's nice outside and let him run around, play at one of the playgrounds.

  4. try this website, they listed the best value hotels in london

    have a nice day

  5. I would say Hyde park, I really think hyde park is beautiful.

The British museum is really good, as is the national portrait gallery. A tour of the tower of london where the crown jewels are is pretty good too, plus it is right by the famous tower bridge. Don't miss the changing of the guard at buckingham palace.

And of course everyone has to see big ben when they visit London!

    Have fun!
