  1. You've got the answer. TNT is, or was, prescribed for people with angina pectoris. My father used to carry a metal pill box with him. At an airport, he was stopped going through the metal detector. When asked what it was, he simply said 'TNT.'

Those were the days, my friend.

  2. TNT stands for Trinitrotoluene a chemical explosive, but can stand for other things like Turner Network Television etc. !!!

  3. Hook has the correct answer but goes on to say that TNT is also known as dynamite.  This is not true.  Dynamite is nitroglycerin (a liquid) absorbed onto a clay-like material that makes it safer for handling.  Dynamite was invented by Alfred Nobel whose fortune went on to create the Nobel Prize.  TNT was invented years after dynamite.

  4. Trinitrotoluene (TNT) is a chemical compound This yellow-coloured solid is a reagent (reactant) in chemistry but is best known as a useful explosive material with convenient handling properties. The explosive yield of TNT is considered the standard measure of strength of bombs and other explosives. In chemistry, TNT is used to generate charge transfer salts.

  5. trinitrotoluene

  6. Trinitrotoluene, I think that is the correct spelling, and it is an explosive, aka dynamite.
