Where the Top Remaining Free Agents should be going next Season -NHL Special Part 1
Prior to the lockout coming into force after the collective bargaining agreement came to an end on September 15th, 2012, team rushed to sign on any remaining free agents to lock them up to save the hassle of having to negotiate once a regular
season gets going.
Still, there are a number of players who are still free agents, may be due to the fact they did not want to re-sign or the teams were not able to come to mutual terms on what they demand and what they want to offer.
Let’s have a look at some of the top remaining free agents in the market as of right now and where they should be headed next season. Listings are not made in any specific ranking and should not be taken as so.
P.K. Subban (Montreal Canadiens)
It was highly anticipated that the Montreal Canadiens would not waste any time in re-signing one of the best young defensemen in the league, P.K. Subban, but fans were left waiting as it just never came around prior to the lockout coming in effect.
Subban, without a doubt will be playing for the Montreal Canadiens and has managed to establish himself as a leading defender in the league, without a doubt. The 23-year-old completed his third season in the National Hockey League (NHL) and already has a
record of 160 games played with 21 goals and 55 assists with 245 minutes in the penalty box.
His entry-level deal was a three-year, $2.625 million deal and Montreal will be most likely offering him a longer term and much higher paying contract once the regular season gets going again.
Where P.K. Subban should be playing next season:
Montreal Canadiens

Jason Arnott (St. Louis Blues)
Veteran forward, Jason Arnott, was a major contributor in the St. Louis Blues team reaching the number-two spot in the NHL last season and being touted as one of the clubs to have the best chances at taking home the cup.
Due to the lack of experience the Blues club had in the playoffs, Arnott was one of the few that had a Stanley Cup under his belt from all the experience gained from playing with the Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators and
Washington Capitals.
It was his first season with the St. Louis Blues, and just might be his last as his one-year, $2.5 million deal, which came to an end in July of this year, made him an unrestricted free agent.
The Vancouver Canucks are in dire need of a veteran leader with Stanley Cup winning experience, something the Canadian franchise in yearning for, and adding that extra firepower just might boost them towards their goal.
Where Jason Arnott should be playing next season:
Vancouver Canucks
