Where the Top Remaining Free Agents should be going next Season -NHL Special Part 2
Dwayne Roloson (UFA)
It is certainly disappointing to see a goalie of Dwayne Roloson’s calibre sitting out of the National Hockey League (NHL) without having been re-signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning, or any other team as a matter of fact, and struggling with his performance.
The age factor might have definitely kicked in for the 43-year-old, but I believe that there is still another season or two for the veteran goalie. Facing reality, the native of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, just might be headed towards resigning if he fails
to secure a one-year deal somewhere and it is probably time, but there is still the factor of giving him a chance just to check his luck.
In his first season with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010-2011, Dwayen Roloson helped the Southern Florida franchise reach top stage and ultimately the Eastern Conference Finals, in which they barely lost to the Boston Bruins in Game-Seven, nearly getting
to the Stanley Cup Finals.
He had a spectacular 9.21 save percentage and 2.51 goals-against average in the 2011 postseason and still has the potential to do so after a horrible performance in 2011-2012, obviously resulting in Tampa Bay not signing him on.
Now that the Boston Bruins will play next season without Tim Thomas on board, bringing in someone like Dwayne Roloson would not hurt them. He might not have to be the starting goalie, a job which has been assigned to Tuukka Rask, but if he chokes, Roloson
could always take over and get the job done.

Petr Sykora (UFA)
New Jersey Devils might have made the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals and barely lost against the Los Angeles Kings, but it was what they lost the following offseason that has really hurt them from all corners. Team captain Zach Parise left to sign with the Minnesota
Wild and Alexei Ponikarovsky also moved out.
With Petr Sykora also being an unrestricted free agent, keeping him on the squad is extremely important in all regards in order to keep the New Jersey Devils offensively capable of facing other clubs. His one-year, $650,000 contract came to an end this year
and after another great 44 point (21 goals, 23 assists) performance last season, Sykora is still going strong at the age of 35.
With two Stanley Cups under his belt and having participated in five Stanley Cup Finals, this veteran is one the Devils should go all out for keeping since there are a number of other teams that would pay a lot more money to get their hands on.
