  3. I have not been to many but I am a beef eater... I went to Outback steakhouse... I think the beef is okay.. but I dun know why it is famous in US... U can try their chef recommendation... Jack Place.. also not bad but depend on which outlet you go to.... j*p resturant... dun think they dun have beef steak... they do have in a form of hambuger.. it is special.. more to the taste of Asian.. I like to go to Wakaru resturant where the paper steamboat is famous.. and ICIban bonshi..

Other than that.. I cannot remember the names of some resturants and some closed down... so...

  4. Checked the following places:

    1. Lawry's - a little over-rated - their tenderloin's so-so, but their roast beef is pretty good. While you're there, don't miss the Lobster tails

    2. Just Steak - their US Prime beef is better than their Australian rib-eye.

    3. George's at Holland V - try their King or Queen portioned tenderloin. Their Bearnaise sauce is really good to go with the steaks.

    4. Jack's Place - if you're after no-fuss, relatively cheap meals, that's not a bad bet

5.Morton's - website already posted by citog

    6.The Tavern (near Mohamed Sultan) - www.tavern.com.sg

    7. Mezzanine @ Grand Hyatt seem popular with steak! Nice ambience too!

8 Last but not least,  the best steak in town has got to be Shashlik!!

    Some info:

The 1970s décor may have been spruced up recently by way of new chairs but not much else has changed since the Russian-themed Shashlik was opened 18 years ago by staff of the former Troika restaurant in Bras Basah Road.

Regulars and their families flock to the Shashlik for a taste of the past.

Hot favourites: A homely blend of borscht (a robust soup), oxtail stew, beef shashlik, escargot bathed in garlic butter, kebabs and beef stroganoff and the all-time favourite, the flaming Bombe Alaska.

The place is also one of the last bastions of Hainanese service: Knowledgeable, elderly gents decked out in vests and bow-ties sweep through the space radiating calm and efficiency. Just as it should be.

#06-19 Far East Shopping Centre, 545 Orchard Road.
