I live near Niagara Falls.I have been to the canadian side many times but never knew the spot where they filmed the parts in Superman 2.I was about 7 when it was made and I remember seeing them on the news but not much more than that.I keep trying to figure out about where it was filmed but obviously things have changed in 30 years. In one place it looks similar to Maple Leaf Village a long time ago but in another spot the skylon wouldnt support that.I know I have seen that view when she wipes his glasses but it was also a long time ago that I was over there and most of it is gone now.Maple leaf is now a casino.Anyone?

  1. The spot where Superman saves the boy falling into the gorge was filmed at the Table Rock complex.  It still exists, but they just recent renovated that entire area, so the building looks different than it did thirty years ago.  That's why both the Skylon and Minolta Towers can be seen in the movie.

The items on the platform where Lois jumps into the river are now located in the Daredevil Museum and IMAX film complex.  I assume you are correct about the platform being located where Casino Niagara now is.

BTW, did you know that particular scene wasn't in the original script?  Instead of jumping into the Niagara River, Lois Lane was supposed to jump out of the Daily Planet building and land in a fruit cart.  The scene was filmed but later changed when original director Richard Donner was fired.  The original footage was restored (and the Lois in the river scene deleted) when Donner released his version of Superman II on DVD in 2006.
