  1. YES  Pearl Harbor Hawaii,  not only a near war but a real war. We won!

  2. i doubt there will be a military war against america on our soil but we are currently on the losing end of an economic war which is just as damaging and difficult to deal with

  3. if i understand the question correctly,  the answer is no, for the forseeable future.

to attack the USA, in the  conventional way,  it would take an army of millions of soldiers,  an air force and navy larger and at least as advanced as ours.  only a large, rich country could afford to develop something like this.  china might, get to this stage one day, but it is a long way away from it now.  no other potential enemy country has the population, money,  recources or technology to do it.

just an example-- the US/Iraq,  iraq had no navy to speak of,  their airforce was destroyed  on the ground.  the US has 300 million people, iraq has 20 million.  the US has 100X better military and equiptment.  yet, a determined , rag tag, low tech insurgent force has been difficult to defeat.

imagine someone attacking the US with our heavily armed population and our communications and technology.  just the citizens of the US would be the iraqi insurgents  times 500 over.   any potential enemy would know this and consider it as a big deterrant.

all of this does not even consdider our nuclear capabilities.

  4. If your question is "Will there ever be a war on American Soil?" then I think the answer is no, at least not in the sense that another country will invade the U.S. The next war between major countries will invovle nuclear weapons. The U.S. could become a target in that sense. I don't think the U.S. could ever be conquered by another country, it's too vast and too many people own guns. It could, however, be destroyed.

  5. The Japanese attack on Hawaii in 1941 was an attack on American soil. The United States had officially annexed Hawaii as a U.S. Territory back in 1898. As a result, anyone born there after that year became an American citizen.

In 1942, the Japanese submarine I-25 surfaced off Brookings, Oregon. The crew quickly assembled a specially designed seaplane, and within a few minutes pilot Nobuo Fujita, observer Shoji Okuda, and two 170 pound incendiary bombs were catapulted airborne. The plane flew toward Cape Blanco Light and crossed the coastline, following a course southeast for about 50 miles to drop its payload on Wheeler Ridge and become the first enemy aircraft to bomb the US mainland.

In 1942, a Japanese submarine sailed to the coast of California. It surfaced near an oil field pier just north of the Santa Barbara. The submarine shelled the pier, damaging it. And although they also shelled the area nearby, no damage was done, since it was primarily farmland there.

In 1942 Japan invaded the Aleutian Islands, a part of Alaska. Americans were captured and taken prisoner. Alaska was also a U.S. Territory at this time. This was the first battle fought on American soil since the Civil War. In 1943, American forces attacked and defeated those Japanese forces on American soil.

Between 1944 and 1945, Japan released over 9000 balloon bombs from Japan. These rose high in the sky where the winds carried them over the Pacific Ocean and ended up landing in 17 different states in America. A mother and five of her children were killed by one of these bombs in Oregon.

Will there be a near war on American soil in the future?  I really don't know.

  6. Actually, Pearl Harbor was not on American soil.  Hawaii was not admitted t the union until after the war.  The American civil war was fought on american soil, as was the american revolutionary war.  There were some minor skirmishes in WWII but that is about it.

  7. What do you mean by near war?  A tense standoff?   A riot that needed military forces to quell?  Regular army troops facing troops of another nation on United States land?

    All of these have happened.

  8. ? sorry I didn't fully understand your question! oops!

  9. We have had a lot of them including three real bad ones!

  10. probably not

  11. Huh? There have been lots of wars on American soil.

  12. Will there be?  was there ever? your question makes no sense.

Yes there was the War of 1812 was fought on American soil, Pearl Harbor was part of a territory when it was attacked, as was Attu and Kiska, Alaska during WWII.

And the chance of another war happening on American soil is highly unlikely.
