Do you think the Celtics that won 11 rings, would of been able to keep there team together in today's salary cap restrictions.

  1. No, there were only about ten teams and players didn't make that much money back then anyway.


  2. maybe, i thought everything was cheaper back then. like how 25 cents can get u like a whole supermarket. so i think back then they were paid much

  3. no there weren't any restrictions

  4. No.  There was actually a salary cap in the NBA's very first season, but it was done away with after that and until the 80's.

    As for the Celtics, probably not.  I could see them holding onto Bill Russell and a couple others, but perhaps not all the pieces on their team.  More important, however, would be the status of the game.  It's a lot easier for a team to dominate a league when it's more of a minor league (really, who cared about basketball back then).  Now that it's such a major sport, every team has lots of fans and the pressure to win, so there's more competition.

  5. no and a lot of the remaining players today form back then are dirt poor, bill walton once did a charity event on wheel of fortune for old b- ball players, who were very poor and on ssi and such
