Hi there, so i just moved to Toronto Canada and i have no clue where to find electric motors. I like to experiment by building different things. Right now im looking for different types ranging from 900 to 3000 rpms. Is there a specific place in Toronto that i can go to and actually physically see the motors? Perhaps there are good websites that i can check out? thanks a lot for your help in advance.

  1. Check here:

    You can find it.

    Good luck!

  2.   LOL. Just get yourself a McMaster-Carr book or look at it on here. Who cares where you moved to anyway? There is nothing special or peculiar about you or your "situation." There is also a Baldor distributor in Indiana and elsewhere or you could just take other peoples rejects if you don't mind growling the field frame or taking a chance that there is an operational leak in the field coils. The field coils can check fine when the motor is off which means nothing when the motor is under load. I guess you already know that. Sometimes you can get away with just changing the brushes and not have to turn the commutator.  Like I said:  Baldor is the most well known.
