  1. I used to be a pawnbroker. We always had lots of guitars, and we would sell them at 60% off the new price, if not more. Most pawn shops have a return policy so you can return the guitar within a specified amount of time, and they give you a receipt. The two other people that answered don't know what they are talking about. Pawn shops do not sell on eBay, we don't have the time to package up all our inventory and send it through the mail. Are you kidding me guys? And I can't tell you where the shop is, because you didn't give me a city or anything to work with.

  2. Go to a musical instrument dealer instead. You get a receipt at a shop that deals with instruments.......Pawn shop?....once you buy it....it's yours....even if in bad shape.

The link below is a noteable place to visit online for instruments.

  3. At one time, this may have been true. But now, most pawnshops sell through ebay. Unless you know something about guitars, go to a reputable dealer like Guitar Center. if it's your first guitar, go with a friend who plays and have him test-drive your choice before you decide. Good Luck!

To Latte_Queen2000: Since you have some real experience in the business, I won't doubt what you say-it's just that several pawnbrokers in my area do use ebay-I'm quoting them from a local newspaper article on why the pawnbroking business has declined in recent years-

  4. Check your local yellow pages for pawn shops, another great place is music stores, they sometimes have great bargains on slightly used instruments/
