  1. Gulfstream Park offers up one of the best betting cards of the meeting on Saturday with a pair of Grade 1 races, and our sister site Track Champion kicks off the contest calendar with the Bet America.com $500.00 Gulfstream Handicapping Contest

    The feature on Saturday is the $500,000 Donn Handicap (G1), which drew a field of nine older runners looking to get the jump in the handicap division after the retirement of last year's top two runners in Blame and Zenyatta.

    The co-feature is the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (G1), with a field of eight going nine furlongs on the turf course.

    Battle of Hastings figures to go off as the betting favorite despite having won just one of his last 12 starts.

    There is $500.00 up for grabs thanks to Bet America.com in our handicapping contest.

    This contest will be a live contest on the entire card at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, with payoffs based on a $2 win and place wager on each selection.

    There are new higher caps on payouts, 30/1 on win and 15/1 on place. Please make sure you get your wagers in a few minutes before post time to avoid being shut out.

    Prizes: First place in the contest is $100, second place is $50, and 14 $25 prizes will be awarded.

    Just go to Track Champion to sign up and play.

    Let's head out to Gulfstream Park for the first of three stakes races on Saturday's card:

    Gulfstream Park Race 7 The Suwannee River (G3) Post time 3:41 ET

        * Miss World 6/1
        * Cherokee Queen 4/1
        * Never Retreat 3/1
        * It's Tea Time 6/1

    Miss World stalked the early pace while saving ground and finished up well for third last out going a mile against Alw-3 optional claimers and that effort may set her up for a top effort here as she stretches back out to nine furlongs. She has lost seven races in a row, her last win coming in the Garden City (G1) at Belmont Park and note she is reunited with Cornelio Velasquez, who was aboard her for that win as well as her good effort in a runner up finish in the Glowing Honor three back off a 4 ½ month layoff. The mare is in good hands with the Clement barn and she should end up a decent price in this spot.

    Cherokee Queen came with a good four wide run to finish fourth last out behind a couple of these in the Marshua's River (G3), beaten 1 ¼ lengths for the top spot. The extra ground here may suit and she should get some pace to run at as #2 Persuading and #10 Trix in the City figure to make for a lively early pace in here. She has landed in the exacta in five of seven trips over the turf here, but just one win. The Wolfson barn has been quiet at the meet (1 for 17), but this mare should be rolling late.

    Never Retreat exits the Marshua's River and came with a good late run to come up just a length shy of the top spot. She was making her first start off a two month break and figures to move forward off that effort. This mare fires every time out, landing in the money in 10 of her 11 career starts on turf. Her previous three starts, a pair of wins and a second by a head all earned speed figures good enough to win in this spot.

    Wagering: WIN: No.9 to win at 4/1 or better.
    EX: 3,9 / 1,3,6,9
    TRI: 3,9 / 1,3,6,9 / 1,2,3,6,9
