Question:

Where to buy LCD EDTVs?

Are there any places left to buy (good) LCD EDTVs anymore? I want to get an LCD EDTV to use to play old game consoles on ("old" as in N64/Genesis/Dreamcast and.. uh, Wii). I've tried searching, but all I can find are HDTVs which would just make the picture really blurry since none of the stuff I'm going to use are HD, and old Plasma EDTVs, which would cause burn-in. Any suggestions?

Also, I'd like it to have a VGA input but that isn't strictly necessary.

  1. I don't think they make EDTVs anymore.  The last ones I saw were at Walmart, but they were rear projection sets and cost more(!) than similarly sized HD LCD or plasma sets.

Instead, look at some high end computer monitors.  Many now come with composite, component and HDMI inputs along with good old VGA, and support pretty much anything from 408i to 1080p.  Be prepared to pay quite a bit for them, though...

  2. Sams Club used to carry these, but they may be gone by niw...just go their and get a cheap Vizio...

  3. EDTVs are rarely available these days. Try HDTVs.
