  1. If you want to buy a used cue, I would highly recommend going to the nearest pool hall. That way you can have a chance to actually use the stick to see if you like the weight and feel.

I would highly discourage you from buying anything off eBay (or similar site) unless it comes from an actual billiards dealer. Even if the cue is in good shape in their hands, you can't be sure they know how to judge the cue's condition or how to properly ship the cue.

  2. You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant.

Or try ebay.  Or  put up a notice a your local pool hall.

What is a carom cue anyway?

  3. This is the only guy I know that makes carom cues, but they're top notch. He seems to have a few in stock.

A little digging found this. They have some cheaper cues. I know nothing about them though.

  4. You want to try the feel of the cue.  Carom cues, which are longer, lighter, and usually have thinner shafts, may be harder to come by in the average pool hall, but thats the best place to start.  Especially if that hall has one or two snooker  or billiard tables for use.  Stores that sell better quality tables would also carry cues and be able to get whatever you want.

If  you are buying a new cue online, stores that will take returns are o kay, but once chalked most places will not take them back.

If you find something you like, shopping online may save you money.

  5. Or belive it or not a pawn shop at least you get to hold it first
