Where to buy a good used trumpet or an old trumpet you can still play?

Okay so I have a Strad but I don't feel like carrying it home after school so my mom said just buy a cheap one and keep it at home to pratice. So I'm looking for a B flat trumpet that it either old (old trumpets were well made) or a used trumpet. I prefer a Bach or King and silver. Any ideas?

DO NOT buy a instrument off ebay, and not off craigslist unless you (and the seller) are willing to take it to a local music store to have it inspected before you buy it.

The reason is that usually sellers are just selling an instrument they found in the garage or at a garage sale (that needs repairs), and they know nothing about it (and therefore can't give an accurate description of condition).  Also, for experienced, deceptive sellers, on the internet it is VERY easy to lie or stretch the truth about an instrument's condition, and it is easy to get away with it, because usually customers looking on the internet for an instrument are inexperienced.

Instead, I would look in the phonebook for local music stores. Most of these stores will have multiple choices for used trumpets, and helpful experts happy to help compare and help you choose the best one for your need and price range.

they deal in remanufactured/rebuilt instruments and can accomodate your needs. you could get very good price plus a limited warranty on their craftmanship.

I wouldnot buy off of craigs list or ebay unless you get an acceptable return policy.

Try buying a Selmer Bundy trumpet on ebay.

they are good used and are a good horn.

you can buy a good one for about $70.

Try visiting a place around were you live that has a music program,  and ask if they have any extras the wouldn't mind selling.
