  1. I found mine in the plant section at Walmart! Very cheap, less than 10 dollars!

  2. I know you are looking for real "stores" to go to, but I would seriously  suggest buying online from a nursery that specifically deals with carnivorous plants.

Here's why, most box stores that carry these plants have no idea of the special care required to maintain them. That is easily seen when you see a Venus Fly Trap with a plastic dome on the pot. This is absolutely unnecessary and just causes the plant to rot. You may be buying a plant that is already on it's last legs if it's been in the store for any time. This is why most VFT's bought from box stores don't survive. Also, VFT grow in nature in a very small part of the US. So small that they are considered a threatened plant. It is not legal to sell or buy any wild VFT. All specialty nurseries that deal in VFTs will have them certified as legally propagated plants.

That said, if you choose to buy on-line here are two very good sources -

If you are really into carnivorous plants, I'd also suggest you check out the book, "The  Savage Garden". It was written by the owner of California Carnivores and is excellent.

  3. I have seen them at Home Depot

  4. plantsforkids.com

  5. You can sometimes find them at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, or a local hardware store. If none of those stores have them, you can find them at almost any nursery. Just call a few local nurseries near you and ask them.

However, most of the plants that you find at the local stores and nurseries will be sick and on the verge of death unless they just arrived at the store.

I have ordered some plants online and I have been very happy with the health of the plants. Specifically, flytrapshop.com has excellent plants.
