Where to buy cheap curtains

Question

I live halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and I need to buy curtains for a full house quick and cheap. Is there a warehouse/auction clearance type place I can find curtains? I do not mind having to finish up hems and stuff myself. Thanks all.

Spotlight have a range of curtains, some big $$'s some not so big $$'s.  They have a range that all you have to do it hem to the right length, you buy it by the metre.  I'm in the process of buying window coverings for my new house too.  

I got some from The Warehouse (they are changing their name to Sams now), tab top curtains (only $19.75 a pair).  I had trouble finding matching colours though as each store had only a couple of sets in each colour.  I had my sister in law picking them up in Rockhampton and my sister doing the same on the Sunshine Coast lol.

I decided that the rest of the house will have aluminium blinds though, I found a great website that I'm ordering from on Monday.  I searched quite extensivley to find them, they offer free delivery (some places charge up to $10 per blind).  Living in the middle of Central Queensland I don't have a lot of options so the free delivery was great!

you will be suprised what you will find in second hand stores and garage sales cheep as far as curtains go. If you are crafty yo could get 2 doona covers and turn them into curtains.

Check out sales at this time of year too. sheets make good temp curtains as well. You will be surprised when you think outside the square a little bit what you can come up with

I got my curtains at Big Lots.  I 2 sets and an 2 over hanging decoration parts for only $30 total.

If you don't have Big Lots where you are, look for some other close-out store. Or perhaps you can find something at Target or Costco.
