  1. .   North Dakota.  Cheap cheap cheap.

  2. One person suggested the Detroit area, the reasons help make a point (Detroit and all the way to *Benton Harbor* is beautiful) point is 1) What is happening economically, locally, Nationwide, and on a Global Perspective/Trends is help full too. 2) Farming? It's really left in the *Big Cats* Hands, medium to even 600 - 3000 acre farms struggle,co-ops are  almost non existent. You'll have a better Profit with 3/4 Ac. and grow anything Organic > Sell at a local Out Door Farmers Market. Don't forget Climate Change and the Drought.Cheapest Land; Cent. to W. Texas, S.Indiana & Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, So Carolina and most areas of Pennsylvania. Homes; Along the lines of these States. Keep in mind the "Reasons They Are The Cheapest" of the Cheap, *Benton Harbor* as mentioned earlier I really liked but as many of the *Newly Unemployed* from Detroit and other Rust Belt Areas have moved - out of necessity not choice. If you have a constant check arriving in the mail you can have quite a nice home but remember your neighbors most likely didn't choose their homes.

  3. you can buy some very cheap ranches along with quite a bit of land in Eastern Montana.......right now I have a ranch with 8,500 acres a nice older farmhouse, barn along with a few outbuildings corrals and working system.....and I am selling it for a million dollars anywhere else I would be able to sell it for 4x that amount

  4. Don't know about farms, but the cheapest homes right now are probably in the Detroit and Indianapolis area.
