Okay, I'll chip in my 2-cents for this question...  If you want to keep Dungeness crabs legally,  Try fishing at the Pacifica Public Pier...  You need to be west of the Golden Gate Bridge to keep any Dungeness 6-inches and over...  Buy good crabbing gear...  Also, get a solid bait box...  The seals over here wreck gear going after an easy meal, the crab bait...

    Lastly, check every so often like 20-30 minutes or so...  Good luck...!
