Question:

Where to complaint for the Child labour?

In my neighbourhood, there is a Boutique where the Tailor has kept a child for Domestic Help. When we asked who is she, she said that she is her niece and that she is 14 yr old. But I bet she is not more than 7-8 yrs. She make her do all house hold work, cooking and make her sleep on the floor.

Can somebody please advise me where I should make a complaint for this? I dont think going to police would be a wise idea as they will take it for granted.

You advise would appreciated as a kids life is on stake.

Thanks

  1. You can report the matter to police, Chief Minister etc.

  2. report that to the department of labor or any social worker you know.

  3. You should go the department of labor in your town. As for going to the police, they don't automatically believe everything that someone tells them. Whom ever you go to is going to go see for themselves the work and living conditions that this girl is in. If you are under 18 though you should go tell your parents so they can file the complaint. If this girl lives with her aunt you should go to social services. Any which way the police are going to be involved because if there is any mistreatment on her aunt's part the police would need to take her into custody.

  4. in a anti child labour committee or  social works committee

  5. Report it to Child Protective Services.

A labor board only has authority over an employer/employee relationship. This is more of a child abuse/endangerment issue if they are forcing this child to work and to sleep on the floor.

  6. I'd go tp my local human resource department and report it, or you can call them with all the info and not leave any info about yourself.

  7. Look for a reputable orphanage ( there are many )and try to rescue the child.
