Where to connect hot / neutral wire?

Question

i know which wire is hot and which is neutral but

there is no indication of where i should connect to.

theres only 2 places, but im not sure which one is for hot and which one is for neutral.

one will probably be earthed to the body of the pickup - is any external metal exposed? the lowest resistance to the metalwork is probably 'neutral'.  if not, just do it - you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.  if the pickup is very noisy and sensitive to how you hold the guitar, reverse the wires
