Where to donate a working computer?

Okay, my aunt has a computer that she got a couple of years ago and she doesn't use it so she wants to donate it. The thrift store won't take it and the purple heart wants her to pay to have them come so they can donate it, but she doesn't want to pay anything.

Where can she donate it that won't charge her??

Thanks in advance.

  1. See if a local church needs one for people in need. See if there is a Society of Saint Vincent de Paul they would truly appreciate one!

  2. Try your local library or grade school.

  3. the Salvation Army will be happy to take it

  4. donate it to me! im a charity =P

  5. A local school might take it or post it on Craigslist.com and ask people to write an essay why they deserve it for free, then pick the one who deserves it most.

  6. Format the system.

Offer it to church, Boys & Girls Club, victims groups,

public agency, etc. I know someone would want it for term papers, tpying practice, kid software, etc  to use for many different things.

  7. Try Goodwill or Salvation Army

  8. Any church will most likely take it.

  9. I donated my old motherboard, processor and RAM to eBay and though I had to pack it, drive to the post office and ship it, they paid the charges, and gave me $140 as well. It felt so good to help someone find something they wanted at a price we could both agree upon!

  10. me? lol... well... there's a lot of community outside there that need it...

  11. Apart from the usual charities like Salvation Army and church groups, Good Will is another outlet. There they will use it to train office workers, and A+ technicans. It'll have the most impact, as a group of people will use it to better themselves, not just someone looking to buy a cheap computer.

  12. She can call salvation army and they will arrange to pick it up themselves free of charge
