I have old clothing from abercrombie, hollister, and much more. they range from pants sizes 1-6, and shirt sizes small to large. I want to specifically chose a family effected by the New Orleans tragedy to donate my clothes to, but I don't know how to find one. I do not want to donate to goodwill, salvation army, american red cross, because it doesn't assure me they will get it. Please tell me if you have any ideas

  1. That's very nice of you. I am about 8 hours from New Orleans but see people affected by Katrina that I help here. I reccomend calling a group that helps out down there and see if you they have the name of families. Then you can either deliver them or send them to wherever they are living. But, if you can't find a family there, check in your own community. There probably are more needy people than you think. Try a local homeless shelter and ask if there are any teens in the building (I'm sure there are). If any of them are jeans your can bring them to Aeropostale and help teens and get 20% off a new pair. I hope I helped you. Good luck your a wonderful person, most just throw them, or bring them to a profitable place like Goodwill.

  2. You might want to try www.rebuildneworleans.com

  3. if you donate to salvation army and goodwill, most likely, the clothes will end up being sold for money that will be used for a cause. redcross however, does send clothes directly to people, so donate there.

  4. That's easy!

Join a Freecycle Group and offer them. They will be picked up in no time, and by folks that need them.
