Question:

Where to eat in Cleveland?

My Uncle is coming down from Boston and we're heading up to Cleveland to visit the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. He said he heard about a famous restaurant in Cleveland to eat at, and I'm not really sure what that would be. Anyone have any ideas of what he may of heard? Either way, what would be some other places to eat in Cleveland that would make my uncle feel like he's in Cleveland and not just at some other restaurant that they have in Boston.

Thanks!

  1. just ask him what it's called!

  2. well there are so many to pick from Morton's Steakhouse is my favorite but you probably have one in Boston so it would be no different.  There is a hard rock cafe it's good but again if you have been to one you have been to them all.  I would suggest you look up Little Italy in Cleveland if you are in the mood for Italian there are some really great places there.  As research the warehouse district there are lots of bars and restaurants and it is close to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.  I wasn't impressed with the Hall of Fame at all i hope you enjoy it more than I did :(  If you just want a killer sandwhich try Paini's its by Jacob's Field will I guess Progressive Field it is now.

  3. Or John Q's steakhouse...but yes, I heard Tommy's is very good- never been there-- I guess it is mainly vegetarian??

  4. At Lebrons house

  5. I'm not sure what your uncle had in mind, but here are a few places that are good to eat:

    The Baricelli Inn (Little Italy)

    Fire (Shaker Square)

3 Birds (Lakewood on Detroit Road)

Johnny's (downtown or the original on Fulton Road)

Blue Point Grille (West 6th and St. Clair)

Sans Souci (in Renaissance Hotel on Public Square)

Crop Bistro (West 6th south of St. Clair)

My favorite of these is 3 Birds - good food with a laid back atmosphere.  If you really want to have a great dinner, Chez Francois in Vermilion is probably the best restaurant in Northeastern Ohio.  It's about a thirty minute drive west from downtown, and it's one of the few places you have to wear a jacket if you're a man, but the food is great and it's located in an historic building right on the river.

Hope these suggestions help you out - have a good time with your uncle!
