Question:

Where to eat in South Boston?

I'm traveling to Boston for a week (business) and will be staying near the Convention Center. No rental car, so I will be relying on train/subway to go anywhere outside the area near the CC. I'm looking for tried-and-true restaurant recommendations that don't require much traveling outside that area of Boston - and that are in SAFE neighborhoods, both the route there and the restaurant itself. Thanks!

  1. Id suggest you drive into the north end.  MUCH better restaurants, and I guarantee you have never had Italian food as good as what you can find there.

(Try Pagliucas, or Strega, or Assaggio, or Pomodoro in the north end!)

  2. Here are some places that are GREAT!!!

    Lucky's Lounge

    Salsa's

    Gaslight

    Union Bar and Grill

    Sasso Restaurant

    Rocca

  3. There is a new restaurant right down the street from the Convention Center called Persephone,  at 283 Summer Street.  The food is fantastic (the chef is a local boy and has another space just West of the city) and the atmosphere is cool as well with a nice bar and a very chill feeling.

  4. Al dente on salem street Its in the north end its really good though one of the best in the city

  5. Kelly's Restaurant: Corner of L St. and 4th. Take the #7 / City Point bus get of at L and Broadway, cross Broadway and at the next corner is the Restaurant. The Bus stop to get back to CC is diagonal cross the street where the church is.

Also on Broadway there's Boston Beer Garden, Fish Pier amongst the fine eateries.

    Welcome and Enjoy
