Where to eat in katakolon greece (near the port would be better)???

  1. Sorry to but in but MUST correct the answerer above - Greeks rarely eat frozen fish from other countries! Sardines are plentiful this time of year - so is cuttlefish / squid and octopus (saw a guy catch 2 yesterday within 10 mins at the harbour) as is sea bass. What we don't fish directly out of the sea usually comes from fish farms (which are fresh and NOT frozen) There is no comparison to frozen and fresh fish - they taste SOOOO different!


  2. the resturants in Greece all do pretty much the same food & it's all very good grub....but - you will pay more if you eat around the port area...that goes for most countries..not just Greece.

    p.s. no fresh fish..all frozen - the med is just about all out of fish!! (apart from tuna & sardines)

  3. In katakolo there are many tavernas with fresh fishes..i was once in " Ακρογυαλι" ( "Akrogyali" ) near the port. It was quite good but nothing special.
