Where to eat in washington d.c.?

my hotel is right by the capitol building. any suggestions on where to eat that will be close and good?

There is Capitol Brewery near Union Station.  For that matter Union Station has some cool places to eat.

If you like mussels I would recommend Belga Cafe (www.belgacafe.com)

Great menu and food, they also have out door dinning.  It is a few blocks from your hotel but would be a nice walk.

I haven't been there in a while so I won't give you a suggestion but a recommendation is that you keep an eye on prices as they can be quite steep.  Capital Grill is supposed to be good but, at the time, my expense account couldn't take the stress.  

You might run down to Georgetown for some good small shops all around.
